# Elastic search recover index

when the disk size used goes above 90% elastic search index goes into read only mode. how to recover it?

You should be able to unset it with the index-level setting like so:

```auto
PUT /foo/_settings
{
  "index.blocks.read_only_allow_delete": false
}

```
