Lately I found that the yum cache size for the elastic-8.x repository is oversized.
After I cleaned the cache and renewed it on a RH7 machine - I found that the cache size for the elastic-8.x repo is 1.8G.
Looks like the top files are -

```auto
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 597M Aug 27 10:26 filelists.xml.sqlite
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1.1G Aug 8 16:35 filelists.xml
```

This is a huge impact on the /var filesystem size.
On RH8 the cache is kept compressed, but still needs to be extracted for dnf actions - which takes time and memory.
I wonder if there's a way to reduce the xml size - OS repositories are much larger but have significantly smaller index files
