# Elasticsearch 7.10.2 Compatibility with Logstash 7.16.3

I originally tried to upgrade Elasticsearch to 7.10.2 with the OpenDistro 1.13.1 update, but it keeps giving me an error (shown below). [The compatibility matrix](https://www.elastic.co/support/matrix) shows that they **should** work together. If anyone knows whether the two are incompatible or whether there might be another issue causing this error I would greatly appreciate any/all suggestions/input. Thank you!!!

Logstash Log Error:

```auto

Are you using the Elasticsearch plugin? Are you using elastic pipelines?
