# Elasticsearch and Lucene performances

Hey there,  
I am not really sure this is the correct place where to talk about it but I will try anyway.  
Starting from [this article](https://www.elastic.co/search-labs/blog/articles/apache-lucene-9.9-search-speedups) I discovered [the nightly benchmark](https://people.apache.org/~mikemccand/lucenebench/) of [Mike McCandless](https://blog.mikemccandless.com/).  
I found it very interesting but I would like to understand deeply what happened from January 2021 to July 2022 since Lucene's performances increased and then decreased noticeably.
