# Elasticsearch backup & restore from one server to another

Hi ,

I'm trying to backup one of index from one kibana server and restore it in another server.

Should we copy the snapshot folder from server 1 to server 2 and then try to restore it?

Can someone tell me how to go about it?

Yes, if you read the links I provided in the other thread you have you will see that's what is required.
