# Elasticsearch beats upgradations

Hello,

i have upgraded my elastic cloud from 7.x to 8.9.1 so, i have to upgrade the filebeat, logstash, metricbeats and heartbeat.  
this beats are running on "red hat enterprise linux" and this are the current beats version like that.

filebeat =\> 6.8.3  
logstash =\> 7.17.11  
metricbeat =\> 6.8.3  
heartbeat =\> 6.8.3

so, can you explain me in which flow how can i upgrade the beats like filebeat 1st or logstash 1st. and can you give me the steps regarding beats upgradation so, i will go through that.

Note:- i have refer the docs but little bit i am getting confuse so, what does mean breaking changes and how to apply the breaking changes.
