If I use the prebuilt binaries or docker image distributed by the elastic team will those also be covered by the AGPL license or do I need to build the binary/image from source?

What about in the future when the new license change takes effect?

Nothing will change.
The license change simply adds AGPL as a source code license option in the places where SSPL was previously available.

We have not plans to change how Elasticsearch is distributed.

Right, so sounds like I would need to build the code from scratch then. Thanks for the answer Tim
