# Elasticsearch change CA and http and transport Certificate

Hi there,  
i have my own self-signed CA. I would like to use this Root CA for Elasticsearch and create new http and transport certificates via my Root CA and activate them in Elasticsearch.

Do I have to consider something with the name of the certificate?  
Example:  
Name or cluster name must be identical?

Is there a description of the customization?

Hi,

See [Set up basic security for the Elastic Stack | Elasticsearch Guide [8.1] | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/security-basic-setup.html). You can use this guide, but skip [the initial step which is about generating your own self-signed CA](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/security-basic-setup.html#generate-certificates), since you have this already.

The names of the certificate files have no importance
