# ElasticSearch Cluster Set up on single machine

Can we two elastic search running on same machine on two different disks,so that if one of them crashes  
i'll be able to user other.

If it is feasible how can I maintain my data and what will be the configuration settings?

P.S. - Trying to avoid cost of other machine(AWS).

You can do that using custom `path.data` values.

But the question here is what happens if the host crashes, where's your HA?

I read about DES file changes,exactly i didn't get this,Can you suggest configuration settings for this.?
