hi
I hope this message finds you well
I have situation where I have installed two instance of Elasticsearch setup in remote server 1 (node1) and remote server 2 (node2), and I want to connect both these node in one cluster
-configuration of first node:
cluster.name: cluster
node.name: node-2
path.data: /var/lib/elasticsearch
path.logs: /var/log/elasticsearch
network.host: 0.0.0.0
discovery.seed\_hosts:

- 192.168.110.107
- 192.168.110.120

cluster.initial\_master\_nodes:

- node-1
- node-2
-configuration of the second node:
cluster.name: cluster
node.name: node-1
path.data: /var/lib/elasticsearch
path.logs: /var/log/elasticsearch
network.host: 0.0.0.0
discovery.seed\_hosts:
- 192.168.110.107
- 192.168.110.120

cluster.initial\_master\_nodes:

- node-1
- node-2
and the result is :
"cluster\_name" : "cluster",
"status" : "yellow",
"timed\_out" : false,
"number\_of\_nodes" : 1,
"number\_of\_data\_nodes" : 1,
"active\_primary\_shards" : 103,
"active\_shards" : 103,
"relocating\_shards" : 0,
"initializing\_shards" : 0,
"unassigned\_shards" : 93,
"delayed\_unassigned\_shards" : 0,
"number\_of\_pending\_tasks" : 0,
"number\_of\_in\_flight\_fetch" : 0,
"task\_max\_waiting\_in\_queue\_millis" : 0,
"active\_shards\_percent\_as\_number" : 52.55102040816326

Which version of Elasticsearch have you installed? Have you modified the configuration of the nodes since you first started them?

I believe you will need to wipe the data path of one of the nodes and then start it again.
