Hello
I am a beginner in elastic, I want to create an elasticsearch cluster with 3 data nodes, I want to ask can I specify for each data node, the type of logs
meaning if I can specify for each data node what is the type of logs it can generate? or what contains each data node is automatically generated by elasticsearch ?

Hi,

There are some [index shard allocation settings](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/index-modules-allocation.html).

With detailed information what you want to do, there could be more detailed answer.

Elasticsearch is a clustered system and data is generally held by the cluster as a whole and you do not need to control it in detail. You are generally better off allowing Elasticsearch to automatically handle balancing and replication of data.

As pointed out there are options to control it, but for small 3-node clusters you generally shouldn't.
