# Elasticsearch docker cluster

Hi,

I am trying to create the Elasticsearch cluster in remote servers using the docker containers, one catch is that I am not using the docker-compose file.  
When I start the docker containers in different remote hosts they are not joining the cluster.

Here are the docker run commands we are using.

docker run -d --name esnode01 --net elastic -p 9200:9200 -p 9300:9300 -v /root/elasticsearch/esdata:/usr/share/elasticsearch/data -v /root/elasticsearch/conf/elasticsearch.yml:/usr/share/elasticsearch/config/elasticsearch.yml -v /root/elasticsearch/logs:/usr/share/elasticsearch/logs -it [docker.elastic.co/elasticsearch/elasticsearch:8.8.2](http://docker.elastic.co/elasticsearch/elasticsearch:8.8.2)

In config file I am passing necessary parameters but no luck. Can anyone provide any solution and why it is happening?
