# Elasticsearch Hadoop - min hive version?

Hi all,
I am trying elasticsearch hadoop.
The idea it to insert into elasticsearch data from hive,
but I just can't succeed with it ...
I am still with hive 0.7, may be it's the problem ?
any help or pointer would be appreciated,
Hive log are not very verbose :
FAILED: Hive Internal Error: java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException(null)
java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException

Hi,
We don't support Hive 0.7 for several reasons the main one being that we support Hadoop 1.x and Hive 0.8.1 (or rather
0.9) is the first one to officially support Hadoop 1.x as well.
There were also a number of significant changes between 0.7 and 0.8.
Try upgrading to 0.9 or higher - you should experience little to no problems.
