# Elasticsearch is not running

having trouble getting EL to run on ubuntu. I've used the deb installer but  
the service is not running. I've tried to start the service and get no  
errors but it's still not running. I'm using ps -A to look for the service  
running but not sure if that's the best way. Help!

Forgot to tell you I'm running ubuntu server 11 and elasticsearch  
0.90.0.beta 1
