# Elasticsearch license expired before the assigned expiry date

Hello,
I had upgraded Elasticsearch license on 31st January 2025 through the end point POST /\_license/start\_trial?acknowledgement=true. With this, the license was upgraded from basic to trial. The validity of this license was till 2nd March 2025. But when I checked the license status on 12th February, I saw it was downgraded back to basic.
Please check this and help to upgrade the license to trial as I am in the middle of my analysis on CCR in my ongoing project.

Hi @ahsanraza,
Can you share the output of [`GET /_license/trial_status`](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/get-trial-status.html) and that you haven't initiated a trial request previously on this major version [as per the documentation note](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/start-trial.html)?
If you request a trial extension [using the form here](https://www.elastic.co/trialextension) and add comments about the reversion issue the team should be able to assist.

The output is "eligible\_to\_start\_trial": false
