# ElasticSearch Licensing/Subscription

Hi,
Planning to subscribe for a licensed version of ES to use the x-pack features. When I made a quick R&D about the licensing, the ES subscription is managed per ES nodes. The ES team is recommending a three node architecture for the ELBK setup.
I have some doubts regarding the licensing.
> Whether we can use a single license for a cluster or we need to purchase separate licenses for each nodes?
> Currently the ES is bundled with X-Pack from 6.3 onward, so all the three nodes in the recommended architecture will have the x-pack enabled right?
> Does there will be any impact while using a single node for the ELBK set up, assume that we will be having about 300 clients sending the logs/metrics to the ES or LS!
