# ElasticSearch : Performance of nested fields

Hi,  
To address one of our search scenarios we are planning to introduce nested fields. Has anyone used nested fields to support their feature(s) at a large scale and can share info around  
(1) how would it impact index size  
(2) any perf hit that was observed  
(3) your experiences of using nested fields  
would be really helpful.
