# Elasticsearch service gets killed immediately after start

Hello to everyone. I am new to ES forum.

I just installed Elasticsearch 6.5.4 on VPS server ( Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS ) using these instructions:

When I run ES the only message I get is "Killed". Please take a look at the picture:

I grepped var/log in order to find some messages ( like JAVA\_HOME issue or memory problem) but didn't find anything.

When I previously installed Elasticsearch version 2.4.6 I didn't have this issue. I used these instructions:

Can you please tell me how to check if ES lacks memory and if OS is killing the process?  
How much memory does ES 6.5.4 require anyway?  
Any help is very appreciated.
