While reading through the source of ES Spark integration, I realized that integration doesn't make use of SQL filter pushdowns. I have made an initial attempt at making it work and things look pretty encouraging. I have open a github issue ([https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch-hadoop/issues/442](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch-hadoop/issues/442)) and have mentioned some doubts that I am having regarding approach.
