# Elasticserach installation on linux preferences

in order to install the latest (8.11.1) elasticsearch cluster in a production environment (oracle linux based), which method of installation is better? rpm or zip/tar.gz?  
in each method which user can we use ? root or not root?

Also, could you please give me some preferences for the OS requirement? type of disk, partitioning, file system and so on on oracle linux for elasticsearch in production environment.
