# Elasticstack and Logstash

Hi,

I'm creating a ELK cluster with 3 master/data nodes, 1 kibana with o coordination-only node and want to separate the logstash nodes.  
Is it best practice to install logstash with coordination-only node and configure the output for elastic to [http://localhost:9200](http://localhost:9200)?

Is the approach of having logstash in a coordination-only node safe for production?

If I go for the approach of using logstash in a coordination-only node will there be any performance issues and is this prod safe?
