# ELK 6.3 monitoring without xpack license

Hi All,
Can i use kibana monitoring module without x-pack license?
As i understand monitoring is the part of x-pack basic license.
Is there some free monitoring features as part of ELK?
For now i have 6.3 version

Hi @Sergey_Diner
You need indeed the x-pack basic license for monitoring, which is free.
Do you host the stack on your own servers?
