# ELK Stack in production environment

I am deploying ELK Stack in production environment. I have a master node and 2 data nodes(Ubuntu 16.04).  
On which node I should install Kibana and Logstash and how it will communicate with different data nodes

Hi @amitdhanjal,

Kibana communicates via HTTP REST interface with your Elasticsearch instances. The recommended setup is to run a coordination only Elasticsearch node on the some host your Kibana instance is running. The documentation contains more information about setting up a production Kibana system: [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/production.html#load-balancing](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/production.html#load-balancing)

Make sure that your Elasticsearch cluster has at least 3 [Master-eligible nodes](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/7.3/modules-node.html#master-node) to prevent a single point of failure (otherwise, if you master node goes down, your complete cluster is down).
