# Email alert configuration

I am looking for an open source solution for alerting needs. I checked watcher they talk about installing a license:

1. Is the license GPL ?
2. How to install watcher in windows machine ?

No, it requires a commercial license.

It is installed as part of X-Pack on Elasticsearch and Kibana.

[2018-07-26T13:27:45,308][FATAL][logstash.runner] An unexpected error occurred! {:error=\>#\<ArgumentError: Setting "xpack.watcher.enabled" hasn't been registered\>

I received the above error wont it work with trial license ?
