currently alerting is running on elasticsearch, so you would need to set up an alert in kibana, but configure an email account as part of Elasticsearch. See [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/7.5/actions-email.html#configuring-email](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/7.5/actions-email.html#configuring-email) We are currently working on the next generation of alerting, that will be more tightly integrated in Kibana. ---
