# Enable wildcard for AppSearch search API

I know that App Search don't support wildcard, instead it supports prefix matching. But recently we switch from some other search solution to appsearch, whose performance & simplicity is way better than old search solution.
but our business partners are habituated of using wildcard while using new search UI. and its not working at expected.
Is there any alternative for using wildsearch? or if user enter wild character at UI level while searching, can we replace it with some pattern i.e. [a-z] something like this, and search will try to find matching words.
