# Engineer2 unable to kill kibana

Hello,

I am on Engineer 2 course - "Securing Elasticsearch". One of the things mentioned there is to kill and restart kibana. My logged in user is `elastic`, but all applications are running as `ubuntu` user. Therefore I am unable to kill/restart these. It is also worth mentioning that there is no pid file for any of the applications.

```
elastic@ip-172-31-3-146:~$ ls -l /home/elastic/
total 4
-rwxr-xr-x 1 elastic elastic 169 Jun 5 04:03 load_lab.sh

```

PS: I had a 2 week break in this course. I am not sure if something changed in between.

Hello Jemshad,

Thanks for reaching out to us. You need to first SSH on **server1** where you will find elasticsearch and kibana running.

Run the following command: `ssh server1`.

Hi Romain,

That works. Thanks. The documentation was a bit unclear there. It says 'Navigate to the terminal window that has Kibana up and running'.
