# \[ERROR\]\[logstash.outputs.elasticsearch\] Retrying individual actions

Hello, as of recent I've been getting the following error:
retrying failed action with response code: 503 ({"type"=\>"unavailable\_shards\_exception", "reason"=\>"[logstash-2016.12.13][0] primary shard is not active Timeout: [1m], request: [BulkShardRequest to [logstash-2016.12.13] containing [20] requests]"})
Has anyone seen this amd/or know how to fix it? My JVM heap space is set to:
-Xms24g
-Xmx24g
