# Error Messages in Logstash Logfile io.netty.channel

Hi,

I am recieving the following errors in my logstash log file on the instance on a regular basis:

```auto
[2020-09-15T02:00:17,587][WARN][io.netty.channel.DefaultChannelPipeline][main][localinstance] An exceptionCaught() event was fired, and it reached at the tail of the pipeline. It usually means the last handler in the pipeline did not handle the exception.

What causes these Error Messages?

Are you running your software in the cloud? It looks like a transient network issue.

Thanks for your answer!

No, everything is run on premise. I have read online, that it could be an ssl issue, but we actually have SSL enabled on both ends. Winlogbeat Config on the Clients and on the Logstash Instance.
