Dear all ,

I am trying to figure out if there will be any range for the elastic
search scores that are given out by the system .Will it be possible for me
to contain the scores in a range of 0 to1 .
I dont see that the use of custom score field could be much helpful as i am
not sure if there is any range to the original score that is thrown out

Any help will be much appreciated

Thanks
Prasanna

I too have the same query. What is the minimum and maximum value range
of \_score? And how can I adjust the range [min, max] to a custom range
like [0, x] ? Would be thankful for any help.

Regards,
Niranjan

There isn't a hard coded minimum and maximum value for scoring, but, you get the max score as part of the search response.

Hi Shay Banon ,

Thanks for the response e. Could you point me to a manual or document that
details how the scoring is done. I have tried searching enough but in vain .
getting on idea on what kind of algorithm is used will be very useful .

Cheers
Prasanna

Hi,

I suggest reading [Apache Lucene - Scoring](http://lucene.apache.org/java/3_1_0/scoring.html)

Cheers
