# Event size from beats

Hi,

I am trying to found out what the size is of an event of Metricbeat or Packetbeat etc.  
Does somebody know where to find documentation about the size of events?  
I only found something of APM but nothing about the Beats family.

The size of events may vary based on it's contents. Perhaps you could enable the HTTP endpoint in Metricbeat and look at the response from the [Stats API](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/beats/metricbeat/master/http-endpoint.html#_stats)?

Hi,

Thanks for your reponse but that was not the answer I was looking for.  
Do you know if it is possible to add a size field to the output of metricbeat event?
