# Excuse me, how does filebeat add custom fields, random uuid?

@jsoriano Thanks, currently I want to go from filebeat --\> kafka. After reading your[github issue](https://github.com/elastic/beats/issues/1492), I still don't quite understand how to add a \_id parameter?

Yes, as I said it is not possible at the moment to add a unique id to events from Beats, the issue is a request for this, but is still open.
