# Explore underlying data require Write permissions to Dashboard

Hi,

Please see this: ["Explore underlying data" only works with write access to dashboards · Issue #83279 · elastic/kibana · GitHub](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/83279).  
I have also noticed that just now.  
Is this really a bug? if not, can you please provide guidance how to troubleshoot?

Unfortunately this is a bug indeed. I doubt there is a workaround for that, but tagging @flash1293 just in case.

Unfortunately there is no workaround for this at the moment. I will raise the issue internally, I hope we can provide a fix soon.

Hi Is there any estimation when this bug is going to be fixed and in which version? I'm also looking at the same ability to "explore underlying data" thanks
