# Facing Issue while running queries on ElasticSearch

Hi All,

When we are making 100TPS queries to elastic and parallelly documents are getting indexed, the response time is good.  
But when the query rate to our elastic is close to zero and documents are getting indexed parallelly. few calls to elastic during this time are taking a lot of seconds.  
Is there any setting I can tweak to handle such a scenario, of low querying and low indexing, but making calls infrequently?
