# Fetching substring from a string in kibana

It's common way to use as tsullivan suggested and will work.

Also, it's not forbidden to use parsers:

```auto
   dissect { 
     mapping => { "url" => "/%{urldiss}/%{}" }
   }
 
   grok { match => { "message" => ["^\/%{DATA:urlgrok}\/"] } }

```
