# Filebeat modules to use proxy

Hi,

I'm still struggling to find a relevant configuration to use proxy inside modules, the var.proxy.url does not seems to be picked up.

[FIlebeat modules proxy](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/filebeat-modules-proxy/301506) I already created a topic on this specific issue this has heen quite complicated to filter out filebeat requests inside a restricted network.

I dont like the use of external proxy wrapper like proxychains, did i missed something in the docs ?
