# FileBeat multiline.maxLine Limit

Hello All, is there a maximum limit for the max\_lines parameter for multiline messages. The lines in the file used in the application may vary and not have a defined maximum limit. In that case is it possible to do a unlimited number by defining it as 0 or -1 for example. ES stack version is 6.8.4.
