# Filebeat only reading new lines

Hi!  
my filebeat is reading only new lines and that's perfect but, how can i tell filebeat to read from the beggining of the file?

You'll have to delete the registry, see [Update the registry file | Filebeat Reference [6.8] | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/beats/filebeat/6.8/migration-registry-file.html)
