# Filter by result of query

Hi,

If i have a visualisation that i want to filter to only show results for a certain date range, where the dates change occasionally and i can get them as the result of a query (top hit) - is this possible?

E.g. i have kv documents with sprint.start and sprint.end dates and i want to query this with top hits to find the most recent and use this to filter a visualisation.

This isn't currently possible (except in Canvas). It seems like a reasonable request, if you'd like to open a [feature request](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/new?template=Feature_request.md).
