Continuing the discussion from [Important: The firewalld service causes installation issues on CentOS/RHEL](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/important-the-firewalld-service-causes-installation-issues-on-centos-rhel/92508):

I understand we need to disable firewalld for installation. Is it safe to re-enable it once it is up and running on the host machine?

I don't believe Docker 1.11 (at least) and firewalld play nice together, see eg [https://github.com/moby/moby/issues/16137#issuecomment-271615192](https://github.com/moby/moby/issues/16137#issuecomment-271615192), so we would currently not recommend trying to re-activate firewalld post installation
