# For prefix query, the max prefix length is 1000, is there any document show that?

for the [prefix](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/7.17/query-dsl-prefix-query.html), I tried by my self, when the prefix length larger than 1000, the lucene will throw exception？I would like to know it there any configuration can change the max length? or any document support it?
