Given the following index, built with the default analyzer on value field:

{
state: open
settings: {
index.number\_of\_shards: 5
index.number\_of\_replicas: 1
index.version.created: 900299
}
mappings: {
foppi: {
properties: {
value: {
type: string
}
}
}
}
aliases: []
}

After populating the index with a single value "myvalue", and trying to search using the \_plugin/head UI, the fuzzy search builds the following query:

..
{
fuzzy: {
foppi.value: {
value: myva
}
}
}
..

Using the query returns no results. After trying a different set of queries, the only matches were those with a levenshtein distance of two or less, for example "myvalu" and "myvalueee". Even using arbitrary values for the min\_similarity and max\_expansions parameters had no effect.

Is the default analyzer suitable for fuzzyqueries?
