Hi all,

I am trying to use a mapping with a "geo\_shape" type
as documented
in [http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/reference/mapping/geo-shape-type.html](http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/reference/mapping/geo-shape-type.html)

using this type in a mapping leads to:
MapperParsingException[No handler for type [geo\_shape] declared on field
[geometry]]

so this type is not handled by my current elasticsearch installation.

as the docs state, i need to have jts and spatial4j in my classpath.
What i did was downloading the two jars and put them in the "lib" folder of
elasticsearch, with no success

Any hint on how to use this type?

Thanks a lot
best regards

Mauro

What version of Elasticsearch are you using?

Hi everyone. I have got exactly the same error

org.elasticsearch.index.mapper.MapperParsingException: No handler for type
[geo\_shape] declared on field [full\_geometry]

This is a part of mapping

"center\_point": {
"type": "geo\_point",
"index": "not\_analyzed"
},
"full\_geometry": {
"type": "geo\_shape"
}

center points works, but full\_geometry failed.

ES version 1.1.1
I use ES via maven dependency

 org.elasticsearch elasticsearch 1.1.1

Maybe I should add some additional dependencies or anything else.
