# Get only new lines from file log

Hi guys.

I'll catch a new log to monitor but i want get only new lines from file log because the log file is not rotary and i can ignore the past this file.

Hello @Welton_Leao_Machado, there is an option in the log input to start from the [end of the file](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/beats/filebeat/current/filebeat-input-log.html#_literal_tail_files_literal), you might want to remove your registry in `data/registry` so it start all files at the end.
