# Getting error INVALID\_FETCH\_SESSION\_EPOCH in logstash

I am getting the error INVALID\_FETCH\_SESSION\_EPOCH while reading messages from kafka.

The error I get is as below.

[2018-07-10T17:42:20,547][INFO][org.apache.kafka.clients.FetchSessionHandler] [Consumer clientId=logstash-3, groupId=logstash] Node 0 was unable to process the fetch request with (sessionId=1078722252, epoch=278837): INVALID\_FETCH\_SESSION\_EPOCH.

Below is my config

input {  
kafka  
{  
codec =\> json  
bootstrap\_servers =\> "10.24.141.0:9092"  
topics =\> ["syslog-topic","dmesg-topic"]  
consumer\_threads =\> 4  
partition\_assignment\_strategy =\> "org.apache.kafka.clients.consumer.RoundRobinAssignor"  
}  
}  
output  
{  
if [tag]  
{  
elasticsearch {  
hosts =\> "localhost:9200"  
index =\> manual\_logs\_error  
}  
}  
elasticsearch {  
hosts =\> "localhost:9200"  
index =\> manual\_logs  
}  
}
