# Getting error while setting up new cluster ES version 8.1.1

Hi @greatvikas123,

Welcome! It looks like you are setting properties that do not exist, in this case `node.master` and `node.data`. [As covered in this answer](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/elasticsearch-8-1-0-cluster-issue/302300/4), you need to use the [`node.roles` option](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/modules-node.html):

`node.roles: [data, master]`
