# Getting the error "Cluster state has not been recovered yet, cannot write to the \[null\] index" in 7.3 version

hi,

we are trying to install elastic 7.3.0 in our env.  
we have some ansible task that running the following curl behind the scenes:  
curl -u es\_admin:changeMe -X POST '[http://eaasrt1:9201/\_security/user/nativeUser](http://eaasrt1:9201/_security/user/nativeUser)' -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{"password": "ChangeMe", "roles": ["power\_user", "user"]}'

this code worked fine in version 6.6 but not working in 7.3 and i am getting the following error:  
getting the error "Cluster state has not been recovered yet, cannot write to the [null] index" in 7.3 version

can you please advise what is the issue and what can be the solution for that?

the following are the existing elastic users:  
 curl -u es\_admin:changeMe -X GET 'http://eaasrt1:9201/\_security/user' {"elastic":{"username":"elastic","roles":["superuser"],"full\_name":null,"email":null,"metadata":{"\_reserved":true},"enabled":true},"kibana":{"username":"kibana","roles":["kibana\_system"],"full\_name":null,"email":null,"metadata":{"\_reserved":true},"enabled":true},"logstash\_system":{"username":"logstash\_system","roles":["logstash\_system"],"full\_name":null,"email":null,"metadata":{"\_reserved":true},"enabled":true},"beats\_system":{"username":"beats\_system","roles":["beats\_system"],"full\_name":null,"email":null,"metadata":{"\_reserved":true},"enabled":true},"apm\_system":{"username":"apm\_system","roles":["apm\_system"],"full\_name":null,"email":null,"metadata":{"\_reserved":true},"enabled":true},"remote\_monitoring\_user":{"username":"remote\_monitoring\_user","roles":["remote\_monitoring\_collector","remote\_monitoring\_agent"],"full\_name":null,"email":null,"metadata":{"\_reserved":true},"enabled":true}}

Hi @ortal_pinhas ,

Is this a timing issue? How often/When do you get such an error? Can you describe the context a bit more so that I can try to reproduce it?
