# Got 400 with system\_api\_version \[6\] is not supported by system\_id \[beats\]

I get the following 400 when trying to send monitoring data from filebeat to elasticsearch:  
ERROR pipeline/output.go:92 Failed to publish events: 400 Bad Request: {"error":{"root\_cause":[{"type":"illegal\_argument\_exception","reason":"system\_api\_version [6] is not supported by system\_id [beats]"}],"type":"illegal\_argument\_exception","reason":"system\_api\_version [6] is not supported by system\_id [beats]"},"status":400}

Elasticsearch: docker.elastic.co/elasticsearch/elasticsearch-basic:6.1.3  
License: Basic  
FileBeat: docker.elastic.co/beats/filebeat:6.2.0

You need ES 6.2.0+ to get Beats monitoring support.
