# Graphing after changing type of data in the index

Hello,
I used to have a graph where I'd show unique count of a field which was type of a "string".
I've changed this field to type "long" in the next daily index and now the graph no longer works
because the field is no longer visible in kibana.
I get a warning in kibana saying that there's conflict of data type for that field.
And I was wondering if there's any way around that. ( apart from reindexing data)

Unfortunately there is not a work around other than reindexing.
Though you can do that easily with LS
