# Heap space help

Hi ,

I have 5 node cluster 3 dedicated master nodes and 2 data nodes of ES 1.5.2 version. for CRUD operations i am pointing out to data node IP's but dedicated master nodes are in severe pressure. can any one help me why master nodes are in pressure if we point out to dedicated data nodes.

What is the output from the [cluster stats API](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/1.5/cluster-stats.html)? How much RAM and heap do you have on the different nodes?

You should also really look into upgrading, as 1.5.2 is a very, very old version.

It can happen with big cluster states. Like a lot of indices, shards, fields...
